REAL CONVERSATION IN SUPERMARKET;
ME: They haven’t got any tins of pineapple for our cheese & pineapple sticks.
HIM:
ME: Not one single tin of pineapple slices.
HIM:
ME: Or pineapple chunks.
HIM:
ME: Completely sold out.
HIM:
ME: They’ve got tins of crushed pineapple. Would that work?
HIM:
ME: Oh, look, there’s a plastic pot of pineapple pieces in syrup. But they’re quite small.
HIM:
ME: And there’s a tin here of assorted fruit. We could pick the pineapple out.
HIM:
ME: I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!
HIM: (Ever the ‘think outside the box’ type). Errr, we COULD buy an ACTUAL pineapple.
HA! Sometimes ‘obvious’ is ridiculously difficult to see. So funny!

The actual event was Christmas 2016 and I posted it on my personal Facebook page at the time. But we laugh about it so often. It would never have occurred to me in a million years to buy a fresh pineapple. The phrase ‘fresh fruit’ does not feature in my vocabulary 😉
