Sunshine Blogger Award

Sunshine Blogger Award

I’m a naughty Lockwood. I have TWO blogger awards that I have never yet done anything about, other than to personally acknowledge and thank my nominees. I’ve never forgotten about them, I ‘banked’ them till such time that I had something interesting to say in way of deservedness.

I’m a bit pants at this sort of thing, but I always intended to give a shout out to my nominees, to show them off and to bow in mutual respect.

Well, I’ve just received a nomination for the Sunshine Blogger Award so I really need to get my arse in gear and show the love. But I’m gonna be extra naughty and not play by the rules, cos that’s who I am now! The spirit of these awards is to tip a hat to fellow bloggers who have entertained, informed, moved you or who you’ve otherwise connected with, and who you would like to herald for all the world to hear. Some of my favourites had mentions in a previous blog award post, so I will point to some of my other discoveries, though it isn’t an exhaustive list. So much fabulous content out there! Firstly though, a hearty Lockwood thankyou to the following for these nominations;

Mystery Blogger Award 1
Honest K is full of Scottish sass. The clue’s in the name, she’s honest and hilarious. She has made me laugh out loud to things I know nothing about (childbirth, motherhood), but as equally had me in tears as she shares painful experiences that many will relate to. Go haunt her on Twitter, you won’t be sorry.

Mystery Blogger Award 2
Dys-Adventures blogs about her everyday experiences as someone with dyslexia. I had no idea how much of an effect it can have on day to day life, not just the more obvious issues of reading and writing. All written with good humour and a genuine love and interest for other people.

Sunshine Blogger Award
Middle-Aged Warrior, well I don’t know where she finds time to blog! But I’m glad she does because she provides me with lots of laughs and I’m amazed at how she manages to fit her life into her day. Teaching English, learning the drums, running a holiday let, raising children and ogling film stars. And making time to learn me all wot poetry means and that, innit. That’s one busy Warrior!

So thankyou all beautiful people, I will take your kindness and pay it forward. Some of my favourite reads have been found amongst the following. In fairest alphabetical order;

Bonnywood Manor
One of my more recent follows, ecclectic, eccentric and right up my alley. Bonnywood has a niche like nothing else I’ve read. Fabulously funny, his style of humour is wicked in every sense of the word.

Damn, Girl. Get Your Shit Together
That title tells you all you need to know. Like a big sister, Damn Girl gives you the lowdown on the stuff you need to know, what you should be taking care of and what you should be letting go. With a great big dose of wisecracking wit.

Mah Butt Itches
Switched on and tuned in, this girl speaks the truth and will make you proper laugh out loud whilst she does it.

Silently Smouldering Words
Have your shower set to cold and on standby, this lady oozes passion. Her words are like liquid honey. She can melt your soul or set you on fire, either way you’ll be needing to cool off!

The Ginger Effect
This lady has made me laugh and cry, sometimes on the same page. She has a no-nonsense view of life that’s expressed with hilarity. She’s also written one of the happiest, heart-warming and touching posts I’ve read, sharing with her followers the day she finally and officially adopted her daughter.

The Joy Of Menopause
Another honest blogger whose humour is full of heart. Family life, real life, style and interior design, presented with warmth, friendliness and the impression that there is a very large glass of red on the go.

The Merry Landlord
If you’ve ever worked in customer services, retail or any role that put you in contact with Joe Public, you will love what The Merry Landlord has to say. His experience has borne forth some intriguing characters, all with a tale to tell. One of the funniest blogs I’ve found.

Yeah, Another Blogger
Quirky, funny and with great taste in music. Have been introduced to some good tunes alongside some highly entertaining and interesting reads. Love his writing style.

So. I hope I’m forgiven for playing the game late. I hope I’m forgiven for not playing by the rules. And I hope you all find something new, interesting and fun to follow. If you would like one of the above awards then feel free to just take one. I think we ALL deserve a pat on the back.

There have been some great recent discoveries that I’m still in the throws of getting to know, mostly found by taking a peek at who others follow or nominate. So go and have a rummage, you never know what treasures may lay within.

  1. Ha! I love this and I am hugely flattered by your comments on my blog. Ogling film stars obviously is my number one priority. 😂 it pretty much how I cope with all the other crap. I am also delighted to see your recommendations and I am adding to them to my reader as we speak. Great to find new people which I suppose is the point of this award! Thank you 🙂

    • There’s some really fun and interesting peeps out there, hope you find something that tickles your fancy amongst them 😉 I don’t know who I think I am, breaking rules all over the place. My default setting is usually ”goody two shoes’. I’m getting reckless in my old age 😉 Thankyou for dropping in and commenting 😊
